welcome

Warren Woods is a community with a long and healthy future ahead of it. With more than 300 acres and plans for 1,500 residences, an energy business park, a 10MW solar PV farm, an EPA forest, a golf course, a hospitality centre and a showcase demonstration project, it is destined to set the benchmark for green living in Ontario.

The power of renewable, eco-friendly technology will be harnessed to create a living environment that is not only comfortable and efficient for today but also sustainable for tomorrow.

Architectural plans will maximize the power of the sun by featuring south-facing roofs and will use energy efficient construction materials and systems such as solar photovoltaic panels, rain-harvesting systems to collect rain from rooftops, and plumbing designed to recycle water.  Homes will be heated and cooled using a combined solar-geoexchange renewable energy system that will be as cost-efficient as it is eco-friendly.

Niagara Falls is already North America’s Green Energy Capital so is the logical centre for renewable power industries in North America.  We are confident that Warren Woods will quickly attract companies in the emerging renewable energy industry to locate their manufacturing, research and development, and service facilities in this exciting and accommodating new ‘energy’ business park.

This will give Warren Woods homeowners an outstanding opportunity to join a proposed community power co-op that will be directly involved in the renewable energy facilities in community/commercial buildings as well as in the installation and servicing of individual home rooftop systems.

It’s an exciting blend of business opportunities and sustainable living that will be a first for Warren Woods and Ontario.

An appealing feature of the Warren Woods neighbourhood is the adjacent Heartland Forest. A 100 acre Carolinian Forest that is a protected woodland park Heartland Forest is accessible for all, making it possible for people with even serious mobility challenges to experience nature up close, in ways that may never have been available to them otherwise.

Throughout the community, beautiful trails for hiking, walking and biking will wind through secluded woodlots and wild wetland areas nearby, seamlessly integrated into the living, employment and commercial centres.

In order to share the wealth of the Warren Woods natural setting, an eco-interpretive centre will partner with local school boards to provide a unique setting for ‘living lab’ studies and recreational programs.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for a lifelong, intimate relationship with the natural world.
